We’ve told you guys time and time again how much we love The Inspired Word – an open mic event that has taken Astoria and New York completely by storm. Curated by long time journalist Michael Geffner, the new Coffeed location has opened to an enormous crowd the past few months.

With artists ranging from song writers to singers, poets, rappers, and stand up comedians, The Inspired Word at Coffeed has become an arts destination for hundreds of performers. We love the idea behind The Inspired Word, and the fact that the vibe at Coffeed is always inviting, welcoming, and fun. The whole audience is always in great spirits, as well as the performers.
We’re excited to say that we’re sponsoring this week’s Inspired Word event at Coffeed! The show starts at 7:00 pm, but doors open for open mic sign ups at 6:30 pm. There are 25 performance slots, 6-minute time limit for anything spoken, 7 minutes for anything musical. We’ll be there, so introduce yourself if you’re a Give Me Astoria reader!
