Join a Silent Disco! Shhhhh.

Imagine this: You’re walking through the park, and you suddenly see thousands of people dancing in unison..without any music. A completely silent dance party.

That’s the idea behind Lincoln Center’s “Silent Disco,” – which they’ll be holding on September 12th, at the Hunters Point South Waterfront. The silent disco is part of Lincoln Center bringing art to the outer boroughs, and we’re excited that something this big and awesome is happening right in our backyard! Instead of trekking to Manhattan to enjoy cool events, we’re finally starting to see them grow in Astoria and LIC.

So, here’s the deal. Admission is free – you just have to show ID to get a pair of headphones. From 6:00 – 7:00 pm, there will be dance lessons, so if you’ve got two left feet – have no fear! Then, at 7:00 pm, the party will kick into high gear, and everyone is free to dance to their hearts content.

The DJ’s will be Bill Coleman, and Bobby Morales, and you’ll be able to switch channels and dance to whichever you prefer. So you, and thousands of others, can come together to dance to the music in your head.

It’s going to be super cool – and you can bet we’ll be attending.
