Have you ever played darts before? Pretty fun, right? Well there’s a new league in Astoria, and they’re ready to play. But their main goal is to have fun, and make friends in the neighborhood – it’s a great way to meet people.

The league starts on October 6th and runs for eight weeks and playoffs. Games are played on either Monday or Tuesday, and always at 7pm.

If you have a favorite local bar, chances are they’re in the games. There’s teams for:

It’s a social darts league-most leagues are ultra competitive and serious-this one is not like that. The purpose, aside from promoting and engaging in a fun game, is to meet fellow Astorians and explore our neighborhood bars and pubs. Each bar will provide food on game nights and offer discounts and specials.

Teams can consist of as many as ten people, with four rounds of various combinations of cricket and 01 games. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to sign up. The league is run similar to Astoria Plays Ball, a co-ed softball league that plays at Whitey Ford Field in Astoria.

So far, the league has played three seasons, and have had over 175 league members. It’sa super  fun league in town designed with a focus on meet ups and social connections with fellow Astorians! We love the idea, and the camaraderie behind it all.
