Give Me Astoria Turns 1!
A year ago, we launched Give Me Astoria with a simple aim in mind: We wanted to create an online space for the community. Over the past 12 months, Give Me Astoria has grown and grown!
We’ve amassed more than 13,000 followers, and thousands visit Give Me Astoria each week. We’ve shared breaking news, more restaurant review than we can count, thoughts on the neighborhood, and much more. We’ve heard from all of you! Give Me Astoria became a place where residents told us their thoughts on what’s going on – and shared them with each other as well.
We’ve had some really great moments – like the Governor and City Councilman’s recognition and proclamation of the annual ‘Celebrate Astoria Day,’ a day meant to bring everyone out to celebrate the neighborhood together.
