If the temperature reaches 90 for 3 days, it is defined as a heat wave. And the chances are quite high this Sunday, Monday and perhaps Tuesday, according to Pix 11.

The heat index for Sunday and Monday is set to soar, as a combo of heat and humidity of 90 – 95 will take the index up to 100.

A possible thunderstorm is the only isolated change that may take place, however Sunday will still be one of the worst days of the year Pix 11 reports.

Sunday night may not even drop below 80 in the City with Monday not set to be much better, weather for the beginning of the week most likely exceeding 90.

By Tuesday the weather is looking to perhaps slow down, with possible thunderstorms along with a cold front, however we’re still looking at highs of about 80.

Sunday afternoon is the most dangerous for heat stroke, so try and stay cool, hydrated and in the shade.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration advices that seniors and infants along with individuals with chronic health problems should be wary and try to remain in air conditioned areas.
