A breath of fresh air!

District Mot is the newest addition to the culinary world that is Astoria, and guess what – it's not Italian or Gastro Pub! Which means we can't wait to give it a try.

Astoria residents can enjoy some innovative Vietnamese cuisine this Friday at 5PM, when District mot opens its doors for the first time.

According to their website, District Mot is family run by Michael Lien and Judy T, veterans of the food industry who have already been succesful in Vietnamese restaurants and Asian Markets in the past.

Inspired by their mothers home cooking, they strive to remain honest to their routes, while giving something new to their customers.

Their dream is to open a place where they can show people the best of Saigon. A place that brings people together in an atmosphere that's relaxing and chill.

Inside, you'll find a long line of wooden tables, with a beautifuly carved feature wall, showcasing Vietnamese architecture. At the end of the tables is the Big Room, where you can hold events and parties, seating up to 60.

The golden hues of the lights, along with the heavy wooden tone gives a sence of calmness, and one can only imagine how the food will taste.

Either way, this is certainly going to be a great addition to Astoria.
