Man Tries To Force Himself Into Woman’s Appartment

On May the 3rd, a man followed an Astoria woman home around 1:15AM, after which he tried to force his way into the woman's apartment to rob her. 

The man was described as Hispanic, between 30 and 35 years and standing at 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet. He was seen wearing a backpack and a long dark colored overcoat. He had a light colored shirt wrapped around his head and was wearing another light colored shirt. 

The incident occurred at the woman's apartment on Broadway and 36th Street, where the man followed her inside her building with a smile and started to push his way in. Fortunately, the woman fought back and the man was unsuccessful in his attempt, fleeing the scene southbound on 36th Street, according to police.
