This cute little place gives you the feeling that it belongs tucked away somewhere in an alley in Tokyo. Seating only about 22 people, it’s intimate but never overcrowded. The menu has a wide variety of delicious choices other than just Ramen, but when it comes to Ramen, they got the good stuff. Their R U Okidoki clear chicken and pork Ramen can knock any cold coming your way, and the service is attentive and pleasant at all times. The ambiance is relaxed, very traditional in a sense.

HinoMaru Ramen

Certainly a favorite, this place is on most peoples list for Ramen in Astoria, and NY for that matter. Looking at it you get a very good sense of traditional Japanese architecture. Dark wood drapes almost every surface, and the lighting inside is often low with a golden hue, to give it a sense of contrast against the outside world. Which ever bowl you pick, you’ll always be pleased with the broth. It’s mouthwatering every time. The menu is extensive, with options ranging from Hiyashi Chuka (cold ramen), Uni ramen, Nagoya (extremely spicy) and much more.

Tamashii Ramen

Next up, this little delight always satisfies. Vibe is very chill and welcoming, and the staff are on point, with the Chefs cooking away cheerfully in the background. Great for a date, especially if you’re both craving some ramen! The noodles always hit the mark, along with the broth and an oh so tasty egg to round off any ramen you choose.

One of the most popular places in New York is Shuya Cafe de Ramen. Reasonably priced and brothy perfection. Mmmm umami! Just pick your Ramen and you’ll be fine, trust us. And for an extra taste make sure you try their cold and hot small plates.
