No? Well that’s not surprising, it’s tucked in at 35 – 43 37th Street, the corner of 36th Avenue and it’s absolutely wonderful!
This place screams unique. The vibe, the decor, the people, the food, the drinks, everything about it is a welcoming breath of fresh air from the rest.
Named No5 because of the lack of a real name, it’s decor is the first thing that grabs your attention. It’s retro and vintage mixed in with some of its own flavors without going overboard into hipster territory, and we’re thankful for that.
From the cool 60’s style lampshades to the bar table top balanced nicely on top of a bunch of old school suitcases, or the classic T.V set sitting atop a stack of old records, the decorations noticeably grab your attention, sticking out from the black and grey colors of the seats, tables, walls and ceiling. It looks like a place where oddity comes to stay. The atmosphere is relaxed and the seating comfortable. It’s perfect for a group or a casual date.
The staff are consistently friendly and always smiling, and the cocktails are stirred just right. Their craft beer list is extensive as well as the wines but where they stand out the most is the organic menu.
Organic Tartines, Organic Burgers, Organic Salads, Organic juices as well as fair trade coffee and teas are all found at No5.
Some of our picks:
Proscuito & Fig Tartine with Gorgonzola, White Truffle Oil and Kalamata Olive Bread. The quinoa sliders with Yams, Parmesan and Basil. The Burrata Caprese salad with Heirloom Tomatoes, Basil and Balsamic Glaze all washed down with some Ballast Point ‘Victory at sea‘ Craft beer. Delicious!
