Astoria man arrested for allegedly attempting to entice a minor

By Loulou Chryssides

A 41-year old Astoria resident, identified as Jason Seto, was arrested Thursday evening for allegedly attempting to engage a minor in sexual acts.

Seto was detained at a LaGuardia Airport restaurant where he was scheduled to meet the minor in person. The Astoria resident was busted after it was revealed that the minor in question was actually an undercover cop.

Jason Seto, also a staffer for the United Federation of Teachers (UFT), began messaging who he believed was a 14-year old boy in August, and went as far as sending nude photos of himself, including his face in the photograph. When presented the age of the believed minor, Seto allegedly responded ‘I like young’.

The UFT have reportedly suspended Seto without pay. Seto was formally charged in Brooklyn Federal Court on Friday, September 6th.
