Search is on for two suspects who robbed elderly woman in Astoria building

An 89-year old woman was followed into her building’s elevator and robbed by two female suspects on January 8th. The suspects took off the victim’s purse, which contained cash, a MetroCard, and checks.

The incident occurred at an apartment building located at 31-41 23 St. at 5:30PM last Wednesday evening. Authorities are looking for two female suspects, aged around 18-26. One suspect was last seen wearing red & white Jordan sneakers and a dark puffy jacket. The second suspect was last seen wearing blue sneakers, a light-colored hoodie, and grey leggings. Both can be seen in the above image, posted on the NYPD 114 Precinct Twitter.
